Hey all,
It's been a busy month with no signs of slowing down! The tadpoles have been out of school for the past week, due to La fête Toussaint. (They go back on Thursday.) La fille had a wisdom tooth pulled. Le fils celebrated his 12th birthday. I tried to ignore mine – a little thing I call denial.
On November 5th I'm meeting up with some of my Frenchie blogging friends– namely Aidan from Conjugating Irregular Verbs, Sara from Le Petit Village, Sarah from St. Bloggie de Riviere, and Sharon from Piglet in France. It's a long drive (about 2 1/2 hours) to Avignon, but I'm really excited to meet these ladies in person, so it's totally worth it. Thank GOD I have a GPS!
On November 9th, I'm taking part in Jessica Bell's STRING BRIDGE blog tour. (I'm nearly finished reading her beautiful and moving book.) On November 11th I'm doing a guest post on Misha's blog. On November 12th, we're having our second book club meeting, where we'll be discussing Kathryn Stockett's THE HELP, which, thankfully, I've already read! And on November 20th, I'm going back to Cali for Thanksgiving to spend ten days with my family. Yay!
Sometime this week my 3rd article for Ma Vie Française should be up, where I talk about Mastering the Art of French Cooking...for French kids. My fourth article is due on November 22. On the subject of cooking, I picked up Jamie Oliver's cookbook...in French...this past weekend. I've already made the sundried tomato crusted cabillauld (cod) with its side dish of mashed peas/brocolli/potatoes and a homemade chicken satay with Dan Dan noodles. This second recipe was a much bigger hit than the first. I also made a homemade moelleux de chocolate (chocolate cake) completely from scratch and an apple and pear crumble.
I'm not taking part in NaNoWriMo, but I will be using my free time (if I have any) to write. I'm thinking my blogging schedule will be somewhat sporadic.
In other news: Gary's dog Penny (klahanie.blogspot.com) has bestowed me with the friendly blogger award!
Considering you are ALL friendly, I'm passing it on to ALL of you!
Gros Bisous!
And Happy Monday!
